II. MTU Standard Maintenance Cycle (W1–W6, Universal)

W1 Start daily/each time (required)

• Oil level, coolant level, diesel level

• Leakage (oil/water), belt, air filter, battery terminals

• Alarm code, smoke color, water temperature/oil pressure

W2: 50 hours (first maintenance for new unit)

• Oil + Engine Filter (0031845301)

• Clean the air filter and drain the fuel oil and water

• Tighten the external bolts and check the belt tension

W3: 250 hours (minor maintenance)

• Oil + Engine Filter (2 units, 0031845301)

• Fuel fine filter (0020922801)

• Air filter inspection, belt/tensioner, cooling system

W4: 1000 hours (medium maintenance)

• Including all W3 items

• Air filter (2 units, 0180941002)

• fuel coarse filter/water separator (X52407500020)

• Valve clearance, injector inspection, turbine inspection

W5: 2000 hours/12 months (major maintenance)

• Including all W4 items

• Coolant replacement, belt + tensioner

• Injector calibration, high-pressure oil pump inspection

• Generator bearing lubrication, ECU calibration

W6: 4000–8000 hours (major overhaul)

• Cylinder liner, piston, piston rings, large and small bearings, valves, oil seals

• Major overhaul of the turbocharger; inspection and maintenance of the fuel system assembly

III. Key Maintenance Points for Common MTU Malfunctions

• 難 to start: Low battery voltage, fuel misting into air, diesel filter clogging, poor injector atomization, ECU malfunction

• Black smoke/low power: Air filter clogged, injector failure, turbo failure, EGR stuck, insufficient cylinder pressure

• High water temperature: Water tank blockage, thermostat (0022035475) cannot be opened, belt slippage, insufficient coolant

• Low engine oil pressure: low oil level, clogged engine filter, worn oil pump, worn bearing bushings, sensor failure

• Electrical control alarm: Sensor failure (water temperature/oil pressure/rotational speed), wiring harness aging, ECU program anomaly
